Position Role

Leads Marketing Intelligence team of analysts in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of data-driven marketing programs and collaborates with other discipline leads on the effective resource and solutions delivery for current and prospective clients.

Duties & Responsibilities.

  • Defines Marketing Intelligence discipline capabilities and offerings
  • Works with Managing Director and other Intelligence Department discipline leads to identify areas of opportunity and partnership to bring unique services and offerings to clients
  • Oversees analyst team with respect to efficient resource allocation, skillset alignment, professional development and training. Consult with account-specific teams regularly to ensure client needs for measurement and analysis are met and to identify opportunities to deepen or expand client relationships
  • Creates and delivers persuasive presentations, POV documents and strategic and operational recommendations for existing and prospective clients
  • Creates custom-designed reports and visualizations to draw conclusions and develop strategic recommendations
  • Coordinates and implements all analysis and reporting projects and provides each assigned account with strategic planning inputs, in-depth target segment profiles, measurement plans, performance forecasts and pro-forma financial analyses
  • Develops analytical techniques and tools into marketable products that fulfill needs across the client base
  • Facilitates collaboration of all team disciplines to accurately gather and use information for analyses, insights and recommendations
  • Leads learning plan development including in-market testing, campaign measurement, research consultation and the identification of knowledge gaps
  • Identifies strategic analytic needs (e.g., advanced targeting techniques, media mix modeling), presents proposals and creates and manages project plan to complete work
  • Collaborates with Project Management in the development of staff plans and budget estimates across accounts
  • Consistently lives agency's guiding principles

Client Relations.

  • Engages with client directly in the discussion of data trends, insights and recommendations and to work through issues and opportunities
  • Contributes to high client satisfaction rating of agency relationship and contributions
  • Ensures proper resource allocations for each client relationship
  • Works with Account Management team to maintain and grow client relationships and manage client expectations
  • Partners with discipline leads and network resources as appropriate on the identification of organic growth opportunities and then development and presentation of new project ideas

Staff Development & Team Building.

  • Leads, manages, trains and mentors Marketing Intelligence staff
  • Enforces agency-wide policies, procedures and processes across the Marketing Intelligence department
  • Fosters and promotes a team working environment
  • Provides leadership to Marketing Intelligence team by identifying performance improvement areas, recommending training and development opportunities, and leveraging network partnerships and resources in an effort to develop staff knowledge, expertise and skill sets
  • Participates fully in bi-annual evaluations by completing self-evaluation, contributing to documentation of progress and goal-setting, conducting reviews of direct reports and providing feedback in thoughtful and timely manner and participating in training and development
  • Attends and/or participates in department overview meetings, mentor program and in-house workshops when necessary

  • Adheres to agency-defined workflow procedures as directed by Agency Operations and/or executive leaders
  • Exemplifies fiscal responsibility by adhering to agency and client expense management and staffing policies and procedures

  • Participates in business development opportunities by representing the data and insights discipline, creating differentiating analytical solutions and presenting a cohesive proposal to prospective clients with other assigned pitch team members

  • Actively participates in department head meetings, Management Council and special task forces in support of agency initiatives

Minimum Experience & Other Requirements
Minimum Position Requirements.

  • Fourteen years or more experience in analytical/planning functions within the RM field; Master's or MBA preferred
  • Eight or more years of supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools such as SPSS and SAS and web analytics tools use and implementation (e.g., Google Analytics, Omniture)
  • Advanced competencies in Microsoft Office, database and Internet environments
  • Ability to scope projects accurately, prioritize time well and juggle multiple projects effectively
  • Ability to communicate coherently and sensitively with clients, vendors and executive level staff members
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and consensus-building skills
  • Intuitive and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to manage analyst team, agency allocations, multiple account-specific projects and agency initiatives
  • Ability to offer proactive solutions and ensure successful progression without guidance
  • Ability to mentor and provide leadership across departments in a team and matrix environment
  • Ability to exhibit client service approach with results-driven performance
