The County is accepting applications for a Systems Engineer Trainee – Data Analytics , who under training conditions manage and enhance a variety of production level systems in an enterprise environment for the Information Services Department . This position will provide support for the enterprise infrastructure including configuring information server security for users and groups; maintaining, analyzing, and tuning ELT jobs; gathering and processing operational metadata; managing system performance to meet end user requirements; creating, building, and deploying packages; and performing capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and restore planning and disaster recovery.

1) Must be available to work different shifts. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working night shifts. 2) Incumbents are eligible for promotion to Systems Support Analyst II upon meeting the minimum qualifications and receipt of satisfactory work performance evaluations. Incumbents must be promoted within 24 months or be terminated. 3) Position requires multiple repetitive motions and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds overhead.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.

Experience: One (1) year of work experience, within the past seven (7) years, performing systems/storage administration at the enterprise level. Experience must include at least two (2) of the following:

Microsoft servers 2003 or newer, Linux, or Unix.

Supporting and tuning applications running on Linux platform.

SQL/DB2/Oracle/ or JDBC structures and connections.

Performing security administration in and enterprise application.

Working with any data analytics tools.

Desired Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Hands on experience with Hadoop, Cognos, and DB2

Hands on experience with IBM InfoSpherer V15 or newer

WebSphere administration

Using LDAP for authentication of Linux base applications

Working knowledge of Fault tolerance/clustering/load balancing

Detailed oriented and must be able to think and work independently

Good communications and troubleshooting skills
