Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Automotive PLM is responsible for leading the product line for the Automotive space in the CMOS Business Unit. The individual is responsible for driving the business results of the complete portfolio of Automotive product offerings across our technology platforms. The Automotive focus combines segment and applications for platform and system level solutions. This role owns product offering planning and definition, differentiation, competitiveness analysis and positioning, product offering extensions, alignment with Segment on TAM/SAM assumptions, sub-segment opportunity selection, offering strategy, business planning, business case development and approval, management of product line P&L, launch plans, marketing collateral development, customer engagement on product line Design Wins (DWin), DWin and forecasting planning, design loss review, standard costing, customer pipeline forecasting, analysis of asset utilization and overall management of decisions on the product line.This role will work closely with the Product Line owners for the platform and RF, Embedded Memory and associated areas to create a comprehensive Automotive offering across the varied and diverse segments/sub-segments.This role reports to our VP, Marketing and IoT, Automotive Solutions and will be based in our Corporate Headquarters in Santa Clara, CA. There will be travel 35% of the time both domestically and internationally.

Essential Responsibilities:
·
PLM ownership of GF Automotive offerings in various sub-segments – ADAS, mmWave, Radar, IVI, Powertrain, Body Electronics etc.

·
Involved in all aspects of products and platforms including the product line, roadmaps, IP libraries, new derivatives, technologies, pricing, financial analysis, demand generation, ROI, and customer engagement

·
Accelerate DWin opportunities in the Automotive space

·
Definition and launch new products including marketing collaterals and customer product communications

·
Strong knowledge of microcontroller (32bit MCU) and processor architectures and semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies

·
Building launch plans to key phases / gates / milestones and schedule

·
Organize training for internal teams including FAEs / Sales

·
Know your industry, markets, shifts, trends, key customers, key partners, signals, intelligence, competition, and report back to your manager’s org

·
Define positioning and messaging, plan market launches / Go-to-market plans, develop marketing collaterals, sales channel training, forecasts, author blogs and whitepapers etc. that aligns the region to the GF corporate and CMOS product marketing strategy

·
Operate in close coordination with CMOS BU marketing, Corporate Marketing and Communications teams on all phases of their work, especially on product positioning / messaging, campaigns, and corporate brand positioning

Build cohesive and necessary team relationships in the organization as well as with CMOS, RF, and ASIC PLMs, DE, TD, Strategic Marketing, and other teams

·
Report periodic status (bi-weekly) of the Marketing, DWin, and Initiatives

·
Manage high-priority requests from CMOS platforms and corporate Leadership

·
Impact Strategic product / solution / demonstrator for Automotive Initiatives

·
Define and develop the Applications and Solution-level feature specifications by bridging between the Customer, Market, PLM, and DE / TD, and 3rd party teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
·
BSEE or equivalent

·
10+ years working in the Automotive space

Preferred Qualifications:
·
MBA with a technical background

·
Hands-on and “can do” approach and attitude to executing on the role

·
Strong ability to use appropriate influence and persuasion skills

Knowledge of ADAS and one or more other sub-segments such as IVI, Powertrain, Body Electronics

·
Hands-on experience in key automotive quality areas including: Functional Safety – ISO26262 at right ASIL level, Reliability – AEC-Q100 – Grade 0 or Quality Flow – ISO9001 / TS16949 quality compliant

·
Knowledge of associated areas such as Sensor Fusion, Security, RF Connectivity, Autonomous Driving, EV etc.

·
Experience in the Semiconductor industry, including systems level and product level

·
Product or Technical experience/knowledge in Product Marketing function

·
Hands-on knowledge of foundry business, product line management, technology development and design enablement

·
Strong market and organizational relationships that can drive industry influence

·
Ability to focus on details and strong organizational skills

·
Experience leading in a globally dispersed environment with team members located in multiple locations and an ability to work in a matrixed environment

·
Very effective communication skills in written, verbal and presentation
format

·
Experience managing budgets
