Senior Analyst, Data Science

The Senior Analyst, Data Science will support efforts to execute company-wide strategy for data and analytics. He/she will define processes, techniques and technology to extract, manage, and analyze data in a scalable way, and to make use of this data to improve Catalina’s capabilities to deliver personalized digital media. He/she will work closely with a small team within the Analytics Department, and also will have direct communication with Analytics leadership to execute key strategies. The data scientist Senior Analyst should also be aware of data analysis and predictive modeling best practices and drive innovation in these areas within Catalina. Key areas of expertise will include big data, statistics, recommender systems, and machine learning implementation.
Job Responsibilities: MANAGING WORK: Understands scope, priority and timelines of assigned workManages own workload to deliver quality deliverables that meet requirementsCommunicates to supervisor status of assignmentsNotifies supervisor of issues that impact productivity or ability to meet expectationsFollows standards/uses standard toolsetsIdentifies opportunities to improve existing conditions and processesCreative in problem solving Does not miss important itemsDoes not need to be told the same thing multiple timesChecks work in to central repositoriesADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Help build machine learning models (including predictive models and recommender systems), mine data to detect for patterns, opportunities and insights using appropriate suite of software with a data product as the end goal.Oversee the continued development of the analytic capabilities within the Network, identify opportunities to improve the processes and streamline activities.Clearly communicate and summarize findings for the team to help develop better products.Participate in the development and testing process of future products Your Qualifications: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Math, Finance, Economics, Market Research or other quantitative oriented fields (Decision Sciences, etc.)EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years working in a data analysis environment, market research, promotion/advertising. Experience in syndicated research &/or consumer packaged goods preferredSPECIAL SKILLS: Experience building machine learning models in h2o, R, Python or SAS, including linear / logistic regression, tree-based models and SVMs.Ability to extract, transform and clean data sets from multiple sources.Experience designing and analyzing experiments to measure the impact of marketing campaigns.
