What You’ll Do:

The team is seeking an experienced Senior Product to lead, develop, and execute the product management function for ShopperTrak’s data and reporting/analytics products. The core ShopperTrak products that analyze traffic data and report retail analytics to our customers are delivered in a suite of ShopperTrak Analytics. The Senior Product Manager for Reporting and Analytics Platform will lead multiple projects from competitive research, requirements gathering, definition, and road mapping through deployment, positioning, and subsequent feature upgrades. The position entails managing the full product lifecycle from concept until the product is delivered to the customer. Specific responsibilities include:

Collaboration, Product Development Strategy, Product Positioning, Market Research & Budget Development

1. Playing a leadership role with understanding of strategic and tactical Product Development issues

2. Overseeing user-level analysis to understand key customer problems and solutions and to ensure new capabilities across the Reporting Services products are delivered and working correctly

3. Collaborating with Development, Design and other team members throughout product definition and project delivery to deliver and build products

4. Leveraging both internal and external research resources to build customer and market insight that can be applied to the Reporting product strategy

5. Identifying the latest trends relevant to traffic based analytics decision support, and translating into how ShopperTrak can best leverage these advances in the Reporting Services products

6. Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute and helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer

7. Working closely with marketing to drive positioning, launch strategy, collateral, and overall product segmentation and packaging. Will sponsor development of case studies, data sheets, whitepapers, and additional material

8. Benchmarking, evaluating, recommending, customizing, and implementing Product Management best practices that support the business direction, as well as promoting/enhancing the desired outcomes and ongoing maturity of the desired culture

9. Preparing and analyzing forecasts, budget, and pricing; conducting market research, identifying policies and procedures that can be enhanced; engaging in personnel management; evaluating solutions; and establishing quality standards

Defining Market Issues, Business Cases, Pricing, Competitive Analysis

1. Developing comprehensive market requirements that clearly articulate the target opportunity, customer, value proposition, business model, and packaging/pricing

2. Providing overall support on new product development activities in data and analytics to maximize the value of the development pipeline

3. Working closely with Clients, Sales, and Marketing teams to help define and drive the roadmap for the product line, identifying end user needs and business practices and then translating those needs into functional requirements

4. Defining and outlining ongoing business metrics and key performance indicators for the data and analytics portfolio and report progress against initiatives on a monthly basis

5. Pricing products appropriately, collaborating with Sales, Finance, and others, in order to ensure major elements are considered.

  • Such elements include willingness to buy, willingness to pay, customer segmentation, discounts and incentives, terms and policies, bundling and un-bundling, process of competing products and services, price of substitute products/services, and cost of delivery of products/services

    6. Assisting in defining, measuring, and demonstrating the effectiveness of ShopperTrak’s data and analytics products and services in meeting client objectives at retail

    1. Developing and revising client products/service offerings based upon requirements provided directly via client visits, formal business reviews, and feedback and input from Business Development and Program Development

    2. Contributing to continuous improvement of program and project management practices

    3. Leading the way in defining/redefining retailer products and services that provide a competitive advantage for the retailer business, and that help ShopperTrak continue to define what businesses we are in and what offerings should we put our focus on

    4. Refining market requirements (statements) that truly reflect what a particular product must do to meet the needs of the people using the product

    Qualifications

    What You Need:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, or engineering

    • Knowledge of building financial models, business cases, and setting pricing strategies

    • Experience managing various clients and projects simultaneously

    • Knowledge of developing and executing retailer specific marketing plans, and delivering effective solutions

    • 7-10 years of relevant work experience in product management and/or high technology industry

    • Experience working in an entrepreneurial, face-paced organization with an emphasis on leadership and influence

    • Must have a track record of positive, collaborative teamwork

    • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking

    • Strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

    • Composed, poised, and professional demeanor

    • Willingness to actively participate in executing plans and perform the quantitative analysis necessary to inform future decisions

    • Strong leadership skills with the capability of envisioning and implementing change

    • Able to work with individuals at all levels in an organization to drive change and improve marketing outcomes
