JOB SUMMARY:

We are searching for an individual who will join us to develop Linux network kernel drivers for devices as a member of our embedded device team.

Our team is located in Vivint’s new Innovation Center in Lehi, Utah, a facility that was expressly designed for engineers like you to come and use your skills and enthusiasm to design and develop embedded systems that put smart technology into the home.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Develop and debug Linux network kernel drivers.

Perform schematic reviews for new products.

Research and evaluate new technologies and tools.

Be a technical representative for specific projects.

Work effectively in a team of engineers, both learning from, and mentoring others.

SKILLS:
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or related field) plus 5+ years of work experience.

Excellent programming skills in C/C++ with experience in embedded system (ARM) design and development required.

Experience developing and debugging network kernel drivers for embedded Linux.

Experience with UDP, TCP/IP and knowledgeable of other common standard IP protocols, including capturing and analyzing packets from various network protocols.

Expert level knowledge of interface protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART.

Experience with logic analyzer and scope.

Passionate about gadgets and smart devices.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.

The individual must be well organized, methodical, and detail-oriented. A self-starter who is capable of identifying problems, taking initiative to propose solutions, and successfully executing plans.
