Position Summary (broad statement):

The Senior Director of Data Management and Analytics will report into the Sr. VP IT and have responsibility for the organization’s Information Management areas including Master Data Management (MDM), Data Warehousing, Big Data, Business Intelligence and Data Visualization. This position will be responsible for maturing and communicating the IT data management strategy and data standards, execution of strategic projects to realize our data management strategy target state, directing the data governance program and managing day-to-day operations for our data/reporting systems and data stores. This individual will work closely with internal IT, Product Strategy, and other business stakeholders to identify and exploit opportunities to utilize MDM, business intelligence solutions, data visualization big data, data marts and data warehouse systems to improve business processes, enable / enhance self service capabilities and create predictive analytics

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide management and leadership support for Data Management and Analytics organization

• Create, mature and communicate the data management strategy.

• Lead the company’s Analytics Competency Center

• Determine the strategic projects to realize the target state of the data management and analytics strategy

• Engage in software evaluations and technical proof of concepts

• Refine data governance strategies and manage/optimize the underlying systems and processes for data governance including data quality, meta data management, data lineage and data protection

• Work closely with the IT Leadership Team Services to evolve data integration services

• Partner with the VP, Client Connectivity and Connectivity Strategy to ensure alignment of the IT data strategy and business data strategy

• Determine the technical needs of the organization, impart knowledge and use of data and analytical tools to drive insight into our lines of business to drive revenue, cost reduction and improved client/partner experience.

• Determine data profiling tools for our enterprise data

• Partner with business teams to evangelize and drive usage / compliance of MDM solutions

• Overseeing the ongoing enhancement and operations of a business intelligence and big data architecture that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight generation.

• Working closely with Enterprise Architecture and business/department leaders to ensure understanding of business processes and how they impact BI requirements.

• Partner with IS and business teams to evangelize and drive usage / compliance of BI solutions

• Provide overall management for all operational data stores and enterprise data warehouses in the enterprise.

Requirements:

MUST HAVE:

• 15+ years of computer systems analysis, consulting, and IT management experience, preferably in large-scale business software implementation projects (ERP, CRM, EDW and third party Data Warehouse solutions)

• 10+ years’ experience in designing, implementing and managing data management systems including RDBMS’s, Data Warehouses and Datamarts.

• 5+ year experience in design, implementing and proliferating data management strategies and standards.

• 5+ years progressive experience managing robust business intelligence, decision support, and analytical toolsets such as Oracle BI, Microsoft BI, Cognos, SAS, and/or Business Objects

• 3+ years’ experience implementing Big Data capabilities

• World-class knowledge of advanced analytic architecture, deployment, and support

• Demonstrated track record of success in delivering advanced analytics capabilities

• Experience leading large projects

• Knowledge of advanced technical understanding tools and products used in data mart and business intelligence development.

• Master Data Hub Architecture, data design and implementation

• Hands-on experience with leading experts in data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and with business requirements gathering/analysis and support of business intelligence initiatives

• Data Integration solution design and implementation

• Working knowledge of data architecture industry trends e.g. Big Data, Hadoop, etc.

• Hands-on experience with business intelligence design, tools, and reporting.

• Hands-on experience of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, ETL and EAI data mapping tools, middleware services, and data profiling tools

• Experience with SOA development on large and medium scale software projects

• Experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management and Data Architecture Standardization

• Metadata management, design and integration

• Experience and knowledge developing strategic planning, leadership, and organization delivery for “Master Data Management” and “big data” across a Global Enterprise

• Hands-on experience with business intelligence design, tools, and reporting.

• Direct experience in implementing data management processes, procedures, data quality management, and decision support

• Experience developing conceptual and physical architectures for solutions incorporating heterogeneous applications, technologies and platforms

• Ability to resolve complex issues related to enterprise wide data architecture concerns

• Management style that exhibits high energy, strategic thinking, collaboration, direct communication and results orientation

• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills

• Business Interaction

• This position will require direct interaction with business leadership.

• Strong communications and managing business expectations is required.

• Ability to collaborate with business and IT leaders to develop recommendations and solutions is required.

HIGHLY PREFERRED:

• Experience in Healthcare, preferably Laboratory Services

• Knowledge of Healthcare Quality Data Reporting measures a big plus

Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, MBA a plus;
