Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to partner with members of the MSI team to assist in the continued development of NBCUniversal’s corporate analytics capabilities, in particular for forecasting across both our Linear (TV) and Digital footprints. The role will involve helping to administer and manage different stages of company-wide projects, including tasks on data wrangling, development of methodologies, model validation, and helping to integrate outputs into on-going reporting platforms. The role will also involve assisting the senior research team in designing, specifying and refining statistical models and subsequent landing of those models into our production environment.

Here what you’ll do in this role

  • Assist with development of algorithmic solutions to transform and manipulate large datasets at scale
  • Assist with the development of advanced analytics models both predictive and inferential
  • Participate in the development of innovative solutions to tackle complex research tasks leveraging big data
  • Participate as a team member in forecast model development and evaluation activities
  • Participate as part of the MSI team in ad hoc data science, research and development activities

  • Graduate degree in technical major related to data science, e.g., computer engineering, mathematics, physics, mathematical statistics, data science
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience. Experience may include internships
  • Knowledge of statistical principles, and forecasting
  • Experience with programming languages, particularly with Python, R, SQL for data wrangling and development of algorithms
  • Experience with big data tools, including SQL, Spark, Hive, Hadoop
  • Experience using statistical software to perform advanced data analytics, particularly in R, and Python
