Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the Consumer and Small Business Market needs, Verizon’s competitive strengths, and based upon the intersection of these two areas create an overarching strategy that drives significant incremental revenue. The manager will be responsible for ensuring strategies are thoroughly vetted; market needs assessed, market segmentation understood, technical solution validated and the business model viable. The manager will interact with a large number of critical internal and external partners including but not limited to: Consultants, Marketing Firms, Corporate Strategy, Business Unit, Finance, Legal, Go To Market, Network, External Vendor,s and Verizon Brand Management. The candidate will have experience working with, or in, product development, product pricing, and product marketing.
The manager will be a subject matter expert in the competitive landscape, market trends and research (both primary and secondary) and will be responsible for developing and clearly articulating an overarching strategy and describing how individual project roadmaps support a larger vision.
The manager will lead extended-team ideation sessions to drive new idea generation with the ability to create and facilitate diverse ideation methods to maximize inspiration, creativity and insights. The ideal candidate will add personal insights, knowledge of popular trends, technical innovations, video programming, apps, social media trends, home automation, IoT and other related innovations.
Responsibilities also include executive level reporting and presentation materials. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills are a necessity.
Required Skills & Experience
BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience
Strong market/customer centric vision and understanding
History working large Consulting or Marketing firms in the development of product position statements, strategies, and internal and external messaging
Ability to evaluate customer needs, service trends, market segmentation as a method to create overarching Broadband Strategies and plans
Ability to create “Consultant-Grade” presentations that clearly articulate the market, customer needs, Verizon relevance in this space, and define the strategy that will allow Verizon to win
Strong Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Requires experience developing complex business cases using spreadsheet tools such as Excel
Requires self-starter, highly organized, efficient, and capable of leading large meetings and driving them towards a common goal
Desired Skills & Experience
Preferred experience in product management, marketing or consulting
Ability to evaluate key business and product metrics to determine specific actions or product feature additions that would favorably impact key metrics
Financial knowledge and skills that allow for the development of business case models and pro-forma income statement creation
Strong project management, problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Requires knowledge of Broadband delivery technologies include HSI, FiOS, WiFi, 3G, LTE, and other Data technologies
Desired candidate has knowledge of Corporate ordering and support systems, processes, architectures, and order flows
Proven ability to interface with people from various departments, positions and knowledge levels
Analytical, detail-oriented, innovative and committed to quality outputs
