Purpose of Position

Hitachi Consulting is currently looking for a Director of Business Development (DBD) who will manage the Microsoft Solutions business development function and sales of company’s services in the Minneapolis Market. The DBD will ensure achievement of strategic revenue objectives for assigned market or industry segment. Their primary role is generating, qualifying, and closing new business for the company for projects requiring Microsoft Platform technologies. The DBD may focus selling to new customers, existing customers or both. Ideal candidates will establish effective communications with appropriate executives, managers and clients to understand their needs and deliver effective proposals (in conjunction with the Service Delivery Pursuit Team). Equally important, the DBD will team with Service Delivery personnel to effectively execute the sales cycle. The DBD actively participates in a Go-To-Market team and helps the team achieve its goals. This position typically requires 8 years of service sales experience with 5 or more years of field sales experience.

Successful candidate must be well versed with GTM themes for the Microsoft solution stack, including Azure, IoT, Mobility, O365, Power BI, Collaboration, SharePoint, .Net, and SQL Server.

Qualifications

Required Skills
·
Minimum of 8 years of industry experience within consulting, professional services, or software

·
Minimum of 5 year of experience selling consulting services for Microsoft Platform technologies

·
Experience and success in new account acquisition

Desired Skills
·
Excellent business development skills in business-to-business technology sales with the ability to effectively direct business development tasks in order to maximize revenues and profits. In-depth knowledge of sales principles and practices.

·
Existing achievement of $5 million in annual consulting project sales with net-new logos and account expansion

·
Sales and/or delivery experience within the Microsoft Sales Channel

·
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across a consulting organization with other industry and solution Directors/VPs, as well as the Service Delivery personnel.

·
Ability to build vision, define requirements, design practical solutions, develop supporting business cases and implement solutions for clients.

·
Possesses the qualities and characteristics that support development of junior team members to grow a practice.

·
Proven track record of multi-tasking business development, client side delivery, and people management skills.

·
High professional and personal integrity with very high ethical standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
·
45% – Helps coordinate and lead the sales pursuit process. In conjunction with the Sales and Delivery team, develops new business from new customers, and expand business with existing client relationships. Manage sales strategies/plans to keep it consistent with the company’s long range strategic objectives.

·
45% – Build sales pipeline by developing, nurturing, and maintain client, partner sales force and new business relationships.

·
10% – Performs necessary sales administration to make sure all parties are kept up-to-date on sales activities. Include participating in weekly and periodic Go-To-Market team meetings, and keeping Microsoft CRM (Insight) and other sales reporting tools up-to-date.

Travel
·
Regular and expeditious travel throughout the United States and occasionally overseas is required to meet client needs and timetables; however, it is based on program requirements.

·
Available to be stationed at and work from an out-of-town client site for an extended period of time.
