Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Donor Engagement & Loyalty, the Manager of Marketing & Retention Analytics is responsible to deliver and conduct quantitative statistical analyses, identify and forecast trends, utilize predictive modeling for greater targeting, and construct segmentations of the composition of our donor database. The Manager of Marketing & Retention Analytics will support current work that is being done in the marketing and retention organization, as well as innovate new ways that improve retention rates and ROI of the existing programs. The role will work cross-functionally with other internal organizations lending strategic/analytical leadership and guidance to Donor Engagement & Loyalty, Philanthropy, Marketing, Finance, IT and Web Services. The role calls for a dynamic thinker that can communicate and formulate an analytics driven approach to improving fundraising performance. The Manager of Marketing & Retention Analytics is responsible for all aspects of their analyses: developing hypotheses, formulating the plan, determining the data requirements, extracting and manipulating the data, conducting the analyses, determining the conclusions and then communicating results in a concise and organized fashion. The role will also advise on the future strategic direction and expansion of analytical capabilities within the marketing and retention organization.

Your Role:
Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations related to donor acquisition, lifetime donor value, and retention

Analyze trends in donor retention and new donor acquisition, in order to better plan the business, determine success of acquisition and retention efforts and identify opportunities.

Prepare interactive marketing dashboards, spreadsheets and written reports to measure, analyze and optimize marketing programs – working cross-departmentally to utilize platforms (Act-On, Google and Adobe Analytics, Salesforce.com) as well as Business Intelligence tools – to present information in clear, concise summaries that provide insights and recommendations for improving marketing.

Advise on and assist with execution donor segmentation, targeting and creative/offer/testing for catalog, rewards and other direct marketing and loyalty programs.

Drive detailed post-event analysis of marketing and retention campaigns and segmentation.

Work cross-functionally to gather insights that improve targeting efforts and generate buy-in for targeting decisions.

Perform audience segmentation and campaign list pull functions per criteria.

Mine data, run scenarios, build predictive models and deliver insights that help optimize online and offline marketing campaigns.

Manage and conduct ad hoc analysis

Write business requirements that outline the platform, data and resource needs for the department’s marketing and retention analytics functions.

Research industry best practices, business strategies and new statistical techniques and technologies to maintain awareness and apply to work environment.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics).

Experience:
5+ years’ experience in Marketing Analytics and Targeted/Database marketing in business-to-consumer or fundraising setting

Strong critical thinking skills and ability to relate them to the services the company is providing

Strong knowledge of statistics and predictive modeling

Ability to think and research creatively, possesses strong exploratory analysis and problem solving skills, and is detail oriented

Strong knowledge of marketing automation systems (preferably Act-On), web analytics (preferably Google Analytics), CRM (preferably Salesforce.com) and BI (preferably Tableau) tools.

Exceptional CRM database (preferably Salesforce) and list management experience.

Strong experience with data collection and metrics for business-to-business marketing and lead generation concepts.

Strong experience with statistical and modeling software tools as well as building predictive models utilizing advanced statistical analysis.

Expert in MS Excel, charting, formatting and advanced functions. Experience in data visualization preferred.

Expert in gaining business insights from disparate sources of data.

Excellent ability to easily move between different levels of analysis–from highly detailed to the big picture.

Exceptional experience utilizing data analysis to optimize marketing activities.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.

Strong organizational, project and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Roll-up-your-sleeves and can-do attitude is a must.
