The Data Integration Manager is responsible for the integration of data into Cars.com Data Warehouse, while managing robust platforms to support a broad set of business needs. This role is hands-on, with technical staff management responsibilities.

This role coordinates between the business liaisons, Architects and Data Platforms staff to envision and create new data services offerings and value propositions, translating business needs into data solutions. This role manages and mentors the staff in technical delivery, instilling and driving best practices for data integration tools and data management platforms.This role acts as a coach, consultant and mentor to the Data Integration staff with the goal of increasing quality and capabilities of Cars.com analytic solutions.Responsibilities includes Platform and Team Management: Manage the data warehouse platform, and data integration tools and solutionsEffectively lead a staff of Data Developers and Data Analysts to develop innovative data solutions and evolve the analytic data platformsCoach, guide, mentor, empower and develop team members ensuring proper direction and personal developmentCollaboration and Process Management: Drive agile methodology and techniques into the practices of the data delivery teamsWork across multiple data development teams to define, install, and enforce best practices and agreed upon standards, inclusive of: coding conventions, unit testing strategies, architectural patterns, etc.Collaborate with IT Directors and business units to set direction, goals and priorities for the Development TeamManage holistic project plans/deliverables in collaboration with product managers, business analysts and project managers.Develop and report on project-level and organizational performance metrics for the Development TeamFacilitate and influence business partners to optimize information and analytic usage, focused on providing actionable intelligence and new insightsPartner with DBA, operations and system engineering team to monitor performance of data platforms and ensure optimal utilization of the Data Platform investments Data Management and Value Delivery: Drive accuracy and consistency in data acquisition and reporting.Understand business strategy and KPIs, and provide stewardship of necessary data and metrics in support of organizational goals.Lead data governance community of practiceIdentify business opportunities for information usage and articulate the business value.Manage user expectations and help lead organizational change management efforts regarding data and analytics.Analyze impact of business intelligence on business processes, and recommend process improvements when appropriate to improve information content and data quality. #LI-SR1 requiredSkills Leadership and team building skills with a proven track record of building high performing teamsExcellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively work in a highly cross-functional environmentExcellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skillsAbility to manage multiple, concurrent projectsReliable, self-motivated, and focused on high quality delivery of work products; willing to accept responsibility and accountabilityDeep technical expertise in data domain, especially in the areas of Data Warehousing, ETL tools, SQL and HadoopStrong understanding of technical and architectural best practices in the related domainsAbility to relate data to business requirements and business outcomes requiredExperience Bachelor degree in Computer Science, M.I.S., Business, Math/Stats or related fieldExperience managing technical staff of 4 or more individual contributorsAt least 7 years of Data Development experience in Data Warehousing environment (e.g. Teradata); experience with all aspects of DWBI Technical and Data ArchitecturesAt least 2 years of hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g.

Business Objects, Tableau)At least 4 years of hands-on experience with ETL development (DataStage experience preferred but not required)Experience integrating data warehouse with Hadoop data environmentsExperience with NoSQL Databases such as Couchbase preferredExperience with Java development is a plusExperience working with Cloud infrastructure preferred (e.g. AWS)Experience working in an Agile environment strongly preferred.Prior experience working in e-commerce or digital media companies preferred.
