Ingestion Modeling (extract, transform, prepare – first steps down to the “output” of the ingestion tool)
Data Lake Modeling (where, how the information gets pushed into the Big Data environment)
Base Layer Modeling (extensive to in-application Journey Modeling – to ensure that we build a model that supports our use cases)
Ensure use of data as strategic enabler
Work with an Information Architect to implement data models
Part of a larger team that will include Project Managers, Business Analysts and Information Architects
Experience working with structured and unstructured data doing data manipulation or data mining
Experience working with high-level programming languages and shell scripting
Experience working with Big Data environments (Hadoop, HDFS, Pig/Hive,..)
Familiar with relational data structures, theories, principles and practices
Familiar with object oriented programming concepts
Experience working in a UNIX / Linux OS
Exposure to analytic and reporting applications is a plus
Strong analytical thinker and problem solver
Self-motivated and strong contributor as part of a team and as an individual
Able to create innovative solutions for data content or data format challenges
2-3 years experience and Masters Degree preferred
