In the position of Synergy SW Architect, you will be acting as a technical expert, strategy consultant, and implementation sheppard for a new portfolio of Intel CPU + Intel FPGA unified products. The Software Architect position will provide hands on technical leadership across the entire product development life cycle, from concept to delivery. Individuals in this role have an in-depth knowledge, and where needed, a code level expertise of our platform to support architecture and design decisions. They will influence strategic decisions and technical direction across other development groups (e.g. PSG, SSG, DCG). Software Architects play a central role in our mission to establish a new roadmap of unified computing products and corresponding software/tools to expand IoTG design win foot print in the IoT ecosystem. Responsibilities may include: • Create and maintain long term architecture roadmap of unified Software Tools, Libraries, and Services by working with other architects and senior engineers across various Intel Business Units. • Be the “Go to technical person” for design choices in the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms for our platform designs • Effectively interpret business requirements to draw out and articulate the business need/problem/opportunity to be addressed. • Define software strategy and provide scaled options for implementation based on the business need and technical constraints. •Engineering team guidance on software/tools implementation of architectural components and prototype solutions for complex use cases that can be rapidly converted to production quality code • Research and stay up to date on various cutting edge industry trends and be able to choose appropriate intercepts based on evaluation and rapid prototype development • Share responsibility with engineering managers to ensure software engineering standards are maintained at the highest levels of excellence and continually improve engineering processes and best practices such as for Continuous Integration, Delivery, Performance, Scalability, Reliability and Quality. • Actively engage and present at various internal and external innovation and architecture forums, technical conferences, and customer councils. • Provide technical mentoring and coaching to other Synergy and/or Partner engineering team members and help build a talented world class engineering organization • Support engagements with focus embedded customers providing pre and post sales technical coaching in customers' platform design • Direct engagement with product marketing engineers to develop customer-ready collateral and messages.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software development experience with at least 4 years in an architect or senior technical leadership role. • Technical expertise in C/C++ with familiarity of OS Kernel Architecture or FPGA Design/Development • Experience defining a cohesive user experience and developing flow for Software Development Kits • Proven experience leading a team in a true agile development environment, and maturity with development processes such as unit testing, embedded debugging, continuous integration, and SDK development. • Should have excellent problem solving skills and strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to business leaders and execs • Must be highly motivated with a passion for and commitment to software design and quality • Candidates must possess a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with more than five years' experience in SW/bios/firmware development and design • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally. • Successful candidates should have broad technical ability across hardware and software in the design of a Computer System. Specifics include: o An understanding of Intel Architecture-based CPU and bus architectures o Understanding of x86 Boot Process, legacy BIOS, UEFI, Boot Loader o Familiarity with Linux, Real Time OS and Windows OS specifically Kernel and Device Driver development. o Comfortable working through program and technical ambiguity by working independently, proactively, and multitask effectively Inside this Business Group
