The iNtelligent Technologies, Analytics and Sustainability (iTAS) department are seeking candidates for intern assignments in Summer 2017. Assignments will be at Sikorsky facilities in the Connecticut.
The iNtelligent Technologies, Analytics and Sustainability (iTAS) organization is responsible for providing system analysis of aircraft- and component-level operational data, developing advanced technologies, and providing technical solutions and support aimed at enhancing stakeholder value by improving safety, increasing availability, improving profitability and enhancing product differentiation.
The iTAS group includes the following areas:
The Analytics team is responsible for applying advanced analytic and data science methodology across the Enterprise in order to provide insight to better understand key fleet issues, help optimize revenue generation, and identify new business growth opportunities. The team provides guidance and oversight of fleet data collection, data conditioning, data fusion and overall data quality processes and leads the development of methods, processes and software products that improve forecasting, business operations and risk mitigation.
Product Support Engineering (PSE)
The Product Support Engineering (PSE) team is responsible for providing “after delivery” technical support to both USG and non-USG customers, both commercial and military. The team provides technical support to the O&R facilities located in Trumbull, Connecticut (commercial) and Shelton, Connecticut (USG). It develops repairs to salvage damaged parts returned from service, in addition to conducting O&R BOM maintenance and process sequencing. Furthermore, the team provides rapid and accurate 24/7 technical assistance and support for non-USG customers to maximize aircraft availability.
Health Management Solutions (HMS)
The Health Management Solutions (HMS) team is responsible for developing, certifying, and applying health management technologies, processes, and integrated systems to meet fleet management needs for both internal and external customers. It performs R&D to develop and transition new sensing, diagnostic, and prognostic technologies with a near-term focus on virtual monitoring technologies to enable transition to usage/loads-based maintenance using HUMS data. The team deploys, sustains, and continuously improves integrated onboard and offboard solutions on each Sikorsky aircraft platform. It also develops and provides decision support tools to the Analytics team. The team is responsible for fleet data management and analysis in support of customer maintenance decision making and internal root-cause analysis for fleet-wide issues, leveraging new algorithms prior to transition to the fleet.
Reliability & Maintainability (R&M)
The Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) team is responsible for all aspects of product reliability and maintainability predictions, evaluation, and tracking from conceptual design through aftermarket support. It employs traditional and advanced methods to ensure products are designed to and operated within established program metrics. R&M engineers are integral to all platform Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), the Safety Board, Life-Cycle-Cost and product improvement activities.
- Must have excellent communication and problem solving skills and a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- Candidates must display an ability to think logically, communicate a clear understanding of their subject matter and offer informed suggestions to improve processes.
Education Candidates must be pursuing a BS or MS degree in any of the following majors: Aeronautical, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Math.
Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
