The Honeywell Internet of Things (IoT) initiative is the future of a majority of our sensing products and we are actively working with global OEMs, to develop leading edge solutions for connected sensors.

The Field Application Engineer primary responsibility is to provide technical experience and application support to our Sales processes to meet/exceed Regional Revenue and New Business Opportunity (NBO) wins plan in assigned territory and through teaming with channel partners at designated accounts.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and product application support directly with customers and to Authorized Distributors (AD’s), and Vertical Strategic Account Managers (SAM’s) to help drive opportunity creation, new business wins, and overall sales growth in the assigned territory. This includes supporting the new product introduction (NPI) process, marketing campaigns, sales programs, and other initiatives through teaming with local AD’s, and SAM’s.

• Drive effective NBO generation activities through teaming with AD’s, and SAM’s on lead qualification, identifying competitive activity, and uncovering customer needs, which results in capturing new business revenue in the FAE’s defined region.

• Responsible for supporting and implementing strategies to help drive sales of the company’s product portfolio through effective teaming with AD’s, and SAM’s, and as required, the SIOT global sales team for customers which require coordination beyond the local region.

• Support the SAM, Regional Sales Manager (RSM), and National/Regional Distribution Manager (NDM/RDM) leadership by helping to drive goals for AD’s through execution of specific actions defined in Quarterly Business Reviews.

• FAE is responsible for effective utilization of factory resources to support customer programs/customer satisfaction and to drive NBO growth in the region. This is done through effective qualifying of issues/opportunities locally prior to requesting additional support.

• Responsible for building relationships with key customers to support the overall SIOT sales strategy.

• This position requires 75% travel.


Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience of Field Application Engineering or Product Line Application Engineering experience OR 7 years of experience of Field Application Engineering or Product Line Application Engineering experience

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong technical competence or experience in Switch and Sensor product application or design

• EE or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred

• Basic understanding of marketing and selling concepts and strategies.

• Proven problem solving expertise.

• Ability and experience in successfully supporting business opportunities/projects through cross-functional teams (supporting development, execution, managing schedules, and driving internal communication).

• Successful experience calling on customer decision makers, including but not limited to engineering, project leaders, sourcing, and business development functions.

• Solid written and verbal communication skills & presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

• Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural, global business environment.

• Highly motivated, self-confident individual of the highest integrity who possesses a wide range of knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Strong technical competence or experience in Switch and Sensor product application or design

• Results oriented individual with a strong desire for personal and professional success
