Responsibilities

As part of the Open Development Device Certification team, you will interface with leading and emerging OEMs to certify IOT/M2M devices. You will work with leading domestic and international OEM's to design, develop, certify and deploy state-of-the-art devices. The work you’ll do every single day impacts people’s lives, work and play.

You will review and approve Device Requirements three times a year. These requirements are used by all channels of development of all OD device OEM’s. Go to Marketing Documentation of device Requirements provide release deltas out to the device OEM’s, to include review and posting on our current website Open Access requirements which is also used by our Retail group in Wireless. This has a significant impact to bringing devices onto the network for devices for M2M/IOT. These requirements define the device behavior that safely allows us to bring up to 3 billion in revenue of devices onto the network.

Onboard and certify multiple device types.

Get NDA in place.

Supply Certification Agreement and kicking off the legal review with VZ legal and OEM.

Provide guidance on device requirements to the OEM.

Provide Module hardware selection information.

Provide secure access to our internal portal.

Ensure all full certification’s and maintenance releases are managed according to OD processes.

Build strong partnerships with IoT Device partners to ensure the requirements are meet for certification.

Guide the OEM through all technical specifications, marketing information release note information and educating the OEM on using the portal where all this information is stored.

Coordinate meetings with or internal labs to decide on test plans to be run on the device, approve the devices for testing at third party labs. Provide weekly status on all devices assigned.

Provide priority of these devices for test plan evaluation at our internal lab.

Set up profile of device for activation and billing.

Qualifications

Must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field , or equivalent work experience preferred.

Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Four or more years of technology experience engaged in engineering, development.

Experience in working with global clients.

Demonstrated expert knowledge and proven experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office.

Ideally, you’ll also have:
Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence organizational direction and departmental initiatives working with all leadership levels.

Demonstrated ability to diagnose device, network and operation issues.

Demonstrated excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
