What You'll Do

As a Data Scientist / Analyst you will be sharply focused on collecting & analyzing data and generating insights for the Digital Marketing team and support data-driven decision making throughout the organization.

Cisco’s Digital marketing organization will lead the next evolution in customer experience through promotion of Cisco products and software through digital channels (web, social, media, mobile, direct mail, point of sale). The organization creates omni-channel, personalized, real time customer experiences that engage and inform Cisco customers and accelerate the purchase process.

Who You Are

As a Data Scientist you will engage in both data pre-processing, statistical modeling, and uncovering the “why behind the why” of customer behavior, and help drive change in business.

  • A hands-on role, engaged in data extraction, processing, visualization and deep analysis of data.
  • Works closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, and deliver insights generated in a meaningful, consumable data story.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Analytics & Insights team to deliver a cohesive analysis.
  • Participates in continuous learning of new Analytics tools, languages as well as advanced data analysis algorithms.
  • Participates in training business stakeholders in the art of asking the right data questions, and incorporating insights generated into business decisions.
  • Works on standardizing analytics capabilities for wide re-use across the organization, including education and training in using new capabilities.
  • Acts as an insights detective and extensively documents investigation, findings, and path ahead – until the gold at the end of the rainbow is found (and documented).

    Our Minimum Requirements for this Role

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Conversant with SQL/HiveQL data extraction
  • Experience in Exploratory Data Analysis and Inductive Reasoning (bottom-up)
  • Experience with programming
  • Experience with Excel
  • Undergraduate level Statistics
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Experience with Python or R
  • Experience in Deductive Reasoning (hypothesis through to confirmation/negation)
  • Familiar with Statistical and Machine Learning modeling techniques for Interpretation & Forecasting
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Comfortable with incomplete data, uncertainty
