RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Intelligence Engineer’s primary job responsibilities will include:

Performing complex query design, developments, validation routine analysis, and streamlining processes

Writing and executing ETL code, primarily complex SQL stored procedures, but with a strong ability to leverage other technologies

Supporting the Software Engineering team with Data analysis and validation with extensive SQL queries

Analyzing and validating existing routines, communicate impacts, and makiing adjustments as required

Assisting with data transformation, manipulation and presentation to users

Design, configure, implement, monitor and manage all aspects of our Data Integration Framework

Provide detailed guidance and perform work related to Modeling Data Warehouse solutions in the cloud. This requires understanding of Dimensional Modeling, Denormalized Data Structures, OLAP and Data Warehousing concepts

Define Data Integration best practices for the Alarm.com data management environment

Work with Business Analysts, Business Intelligence Developers, Infrastructure Architects and key business users to review, design and develop data models and ETL processes

Perform other technical duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related degree

Strong Transact SQL Experience and optimization skills with SQL Server

Strong knowledge of at least one programming language

SQL, Visual Studio, C# experience preferred

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, must enjoy working with internal corporate customers

Ability to self-motivate, prioritize requests, and adapt as needed

Solid verbal and written communication skills

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Knowledge of industry ETL tools (Informatica, Data Stage, Ab Initio, etc.)

Experience with Big Data technologies is a plus (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Pig, etc)

Ability to understand Alarm.com’s business model

Willingness to learn new technologies and programming languages

Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus

Able to define, document and support systems, policies and procedures

Able to produce professional documentation and manage small initiatives
