Data Governance Lead Analyst

The Data Governance Business Analyst is a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge of data governance methods and has recognized expertise in initiating and maintaining data governance processes. The analyst will work with programmers, business analysts, and managers across the UC Davis Enterprise to facilitate consensus around the definition and use of data elements, process measures and metrics. Working with a high degree of autonomy they will use appropriate tools to document and promote the use of common definitions and data elements. As this is a new program they will be formulating strategies that support data governance processes including communicating its benefits, implementing new tools and training the community of data users in its use.REQUIRED

— Direct experience in Customer and Item Master Data Management and will have strong familiarity with Master Data Management, integration / middleware, Business Intelligence and Enterprise Data Warehouse systems.

— Experience driving process improvement to continually improve service and reduce costs.

— Strong demonstrated understanding of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) procedures and solutions.

— Experience adhering to IT policies and processes to ensure consistent quality of service and compliance with relevant data privacy and data access regulations and best practices.

— Proven track record of success in technology, business management and/or consulting roles.

— Proven experience building and leading high profile data science related projects

— Skill building consensus and to make decisions.

— Demonstrated experience translating and presenting complex information into simple terms.

— Strong interpersonal skills, a sense of urgency and focus on deadlines, and highly developed time management skills.

— Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

— Demonstrated skills performing quality review of reconciliation procedures and providing timely feedback.

— Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or related STEM major.

— Prior experience developing and managing Data Architecture.

PREFERRED

— Academic institution or large integrated health system experience

— Graduate degree or equivalent in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or related STEM major.
