There’s no end to the
data that’s created every day and the opportunities you find here. But these
are just some of your responsibilities:
- Researches on SQL and NOSQL technologies and identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies
- Performs all technical aspects of data architecture and database management for the Global Acquisition Persistence Tier, including developing prototypes, developing new database structures and API's as applicable
- Performs transformation of logical data architectures into physical data designs, according to database design best practices and standards
- Provides database administration services to projects creating, extending or maintaining databases, data warehouses and datamarts
- Debugs database components, identifies, fixes and verifies remediation of design and/or performance defects
- Performs ongoing refactoring of database design and continuously improves product to follow data placement procedures and re-use of existing databases as appropriate
- Ensures optimal data replication, performance, High Availability, backup and recovery processes exist to meet requirements, reduce cost and adhere to standards
- Contributes to development of plans and strategies, best practices, and standards related to data management processes, data products, data security and programs
- Functions as member of an agile team and manages data assets as per the enterprise standards, guidelines and policies
- Typically spends 70% of time in development and testing and remainder of time collaborating with stakeholders through ongoing product/platform releases
- Communicates and works collaboratively with business and product teams to support changes and implementation
- Partners with delivery architects and engineers to design data tier solutions to meet enterprise platform objectives and goals
- Contributes to decisions about tools, methods and approaches
Qualifications
Are you up for the
challenge?
- 8+ years of software/database
development experience in an enterprise environment - Willingness to learn new
NOSQL/Big Data technologies and apply what you learned in real world use cases - Demonstrated experience on RDBMS
(Oracle, MS SQL Server) and NOSQL/Big Data technologies (e.g. MongoDB, Neo4j,
Cassandra, Redis, HBase, Hive, Spark, Pig, etc) - Experience with Java EE
application design and development is a big plus - Hands-on expertise on RDBMS data
modeling and database administration - Ability to effectively
communicate with internal and external business and technical partners - Demonstrated high collaboration
skills - Excellent writing and verbal
communication skills - Excellent interpersonal and
organizational skills - Ability to handle/manage multiple
simultaneous priorities, deadlines, and deliverables - Bachelor’s Degree in computer
science, computer science engineering, or related field required; advanced
degree preferred
