Examples of Duties:
Under general supervision, plans, coordinates, designs, and supervises activities related to various software programs, applications, and third-party solutions as required to meet the business requirements of the organization.
Develops and maintains data quality standards, oversees the development of data entities and their associated components.
Ensures that data logically flows through all successive stages involved in the physical design.
Acts as an internal consultant on integration and data architecture initiatives by collaborating with OIT management on development of enterprise data initiatives, strategies, and standardization, taking into account existing data stores and systems of record.
Gathers, analyzes, documents and translates application requirements into data models.
Analyzes and documents conversion and migration strategies for existing data, and develops strategies for automated data conversion and data migration.
Leads in designing, specifying and selecting integration and data solutions, considering current and future functionality, enterprise data sources and stores, security, infrastructure and performance.
Contributes to the design and direction of enterprise-wide data architecture as well as design documentation deliverables.
Supports standardization of documentation and the adoption of standards and practices related to data and applications.
Interacts with internal technical and business partners and external partners. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of new developments and research related to application integration and IT trends, works closely with managers, architects, project managers and agencies to define, develop and implement major software applications. EXAMPLES OF OTHER DUTIES Provides advanced level application technical support to resolve problems, works with vendors to solve software, system design and data performance issues. Prioritizes, investigates and troubleshoots problems and questions pertaining to system applications, interfaces and data integration as needed. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Information Technology field with IT certifications, preferably related to architectural design
at least eight (8) years' experience in managing or analyzing programs in government agencies, five (5) years of which were in database technologies, data design and performance optimization for large enterprise applications.
Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years for the required education.
