PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This role is responsible for developing and implementing a robust reporting and analytics strategy within GIS. This role has the broad scope to develop the end to end reporting strategy (including requirements gathering, report development, testing, report delivery and quality control).
This Data Analytics Manager will also be responsible for defining (and/or redefining) business requirements for new/enhanced reports and dashboards as it relates to the implementation of the new CRM system (SalesForce.com). They will consult and partner with GIS relationship managers, senior management and other GIS associates to understand their needs and translate them into KPIs, optimized business processes and improved reporting solutions.
They will identify trends and emerging business needs and proactively develop solutions to inform key business decisions or progress against GIS strategic goals at the Global, Regional and Local level.
They will also provide support and mentorship to both senior data and reporting analysts and data governance analyst in terms of workflow management, report enhancements, policies and procedures and quality control.
Reporting Framework: Develops and designs a robust data and reporting strategy that encompasses the end to end reporting process. Ensure process and procedures are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure consistency and understanding at the Global, Regional and Local level.
Market Analysis and Business Intelligence: Independently and proactively designs and/or develops reports to provide data analytics and information to GIS leadership team, regional heads, GIS associates and shared service partners. Be able to design and develop reporting solutions that synthesize data from multiple sources and provide meaningful business insight that supports decision making. Provide mentorship and support to other member of the global business management team to help them prioritize, develop and design reports that provide meaningful business insight.
Change and issue resolution management: Develop and evaluates alternative solutions and identifies a recommended solutions on medium to high complexity work/projects leveraging existing systems where feasible. Presents evaluation of alternatives and recommendation to the business for the purpose of determining and agreeing upon the best resolution. Uses negotiation skills to influence project team and gain consensus on the selection of the most viable solution. Facilitates the solution selection and decision making process and provides the necessary information to enable to business to make informed decisions. Works with business partners to assess related business process changes and impact to users/clients on current issues and concerns Assumes responsibility for the resolution of system and process issues and works with the appropriate technical subject matter experts to provide a solution.
Definition and articulation of business needs and requirements: Develops intimate understanding of business needs and requirements. This can be accomplished through a variety of means including but not limited to interviews, shadowing, reviewing policies/procedures and gathering external market research.
Leads Business Process Documentation and Improvements Initiatives: Responsible for documenting business processes and creating policies and procedures that support the reporting strategy. Identify processes the need improvement, eliminate redundancy and streamline business processes. Once processes are identified develop project charter and lead process improvement efforts.
IT background and database orientation
Knowledge of client relationship management systems
Knowledge of database design models
Ability to synthesize and present data to inform business decision making and track progress to business strategy
Ability to work as part of a team but also perform with minimal direction
Business Process Improvement Experience
Exceptional MS Excel Skills required
Advanced Business Objects knowledge or other reporting package/database designs
Must be proficient in PowerPoint
Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp business issues and understand business strategy
Excellent oral and written communication
Able to maintain working relationships with clients at all levels of a cross-functional team, while effectively servicing business lines, a team player
Able to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously
Ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of detailed information
Ability to mentor and support other team members
College degree and 1 year of related work experience, or
Associate degree and 3 years related work experience
