This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of company data and reporting. It involves development and preparation of information for distribution to physician and leadership staff that may be used as a statistical source for determining appropriate implementation of adjustments and changes to company practice.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing requests.
Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
Use and support database applications and analytical tools; evaluate data quality, applications and functions.
Research new data sources and analytical tools. Contribute to improvement in information delivery and presentation.
Develop awareness and familiarity with issues affecting the company as they relate to data and reporting.
Construct spreadsheets and reports that may include information on trends and forecasts for company data, cost evaluation, efficiency, and growth.
Routinely audit and assist with data input.
Communicate with physician, executive, and other appropriate staff regarding data analysis and reporting, as needed.
Attend meetings, as necessary, to present findings.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field.
Undergraduate or graduate coursework in statistics, technology, data analysis, research methods.
Experience in data analysis strongly preferred.
Knowledge of medical claims data and clinical coding preferred.
Expert level proficiency with spreadsheet, database, and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and Access, to include pivot tables and forecasting)
Proficiency with report writing
Working knowledge of SQL queries
Familiarity with IBM Cognos platform preferred
Ability to analyze and recommend software solutions
Ability to utilize good customer service skills and professionalism when dealing with physicians, staff, and external business associates
Capability of separating problems into components and recognizing underlying patterns and processes
Adept at explaining technical topics clearly and simply verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently or cooperatively as part of a team
Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and/or situations
Excellent critical, abstract, and decision making skills
Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines with patient and practice data
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
Ability to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions:
