Position involves programming for or consulting on a wide variety of research-related computational problems, including data analysis ( MRI , EEG / ERP , eyetracking); presentation of audiovisual cognitive tasks for in-lab or online studies; controlling hardware; maintenance of internal and open-sourced code repositories; and data transfer, archiving, and backup. Primary languages used will be Python, MATLAB , and HTML / CSS /JavaScript, but each research project will likely involve unique libraries, languages, and/or challenges. There may be opportunities for occasional evening and weekend work.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 2 years of experience with computer programming (not necessarily through formal employment) required; equivalent education/experience considered. Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Python, MATLAB , and/or web development (primarily HTMS / CSS /JavaScript) preferred. Any additional programming experience or languages desirable. Experience working with machine learning, signal processing, image processing, and/or statistical analysis for large datasets (especially medical imaging or neuroimaging) helpful. Some knowledge of cognitive psychology or neuroscience, and/or experience in a research environment desirable. Prefer experience teaching or tutoring others, particularly in programming.
