The ComTech practice serves major clients in the technology and telecommunications space. In the technology space, we serve clients across three major business segments: online, software and high technology manufacturers. In the telecommunications segments we service major clients across the network, cable and wireless segments. Our business consulting practice provides management consulting services to our clients with an emphasis on providing strategy and operations consulting. We provide consulting support to both the business and the IT functions.
Role and Responsibilities
The Manager position is a critical role within our practice. The successful candidate is expected to spend most of his or her time shaping and leading business transformation programs to address strategic business challenges and deliver the highest quality work to our clients. The remainder of the Manager’s time will be spent identifying and working with consulting leadership to identify and pursue business opportunities to provide value to our clients across the technology business segments. The successful candidate will:
Provide project leadership and direction on one or more projects while maintaining a high quality level of service. Ensure quality on all deliverables.
Develop and manage client relationships on projects
Manage delivery dates, resourcing and schedules
Facilitate project execution by providing support in project-level issue resolution and management of scope
Help build, lead, and develop team of onshore/offshore consultants
pursue up-sell opportunities
Contribute to business development through activities such as pre-sales client presentations, research, and writing proposal, RFP responses and SOWs
Have the ability to position industry insights as they pertain to client needs & requirements
Deeply understand their client’s business challenges, and provide thought leadership in addressing these issues
Work proactively to bring the best of Cognizant expertise to our client(s)
The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in consulting, deep communications industry acumen and domain knowledge of one or more of the following:
BSS Transformation- Experience in providing consulting and process support to Communication industry BSS (Business Support Systems) applications, Understanding of BSS application impacts to downstream customer operation support tools and processes, and knowledge of foundational components of the BSS architecture including Product, Customer Care, Revenue, and Order Management
Customer Experience- Experience in enhancing customer operations effectiveness through focused management of IT and consultative project investment, Omni Chanel Contact strategies, Customer Experience Management strategy, Contact center operational improvements, Social response effectiveness and growth strategy
Network Ops/SDN- Consulting experience in Outside Plant / C&E Optimization, GIS Integration, Field Service Processes and Mobile Apps, OSS Application Rationalization, Network Change Management (RAN, Cell Site), NOC Assessment, Service Quality Management, Network Inventory Management and Reconciliation, Network investment optimization, Operating cost reduction, and familiarity with software defined networks and Rationalized Architecture
Connected Home & Product Management – Understanding of Smart/Connected home industry trends and strategic impacts to CSPs as well as business drivers into Machine to Machine (M2M) and Internet of things (IoT) with knowledge of Product Development Process Acceleration and Tools
In addition to above domain areas, analytics experience to deliver transformative insights and value through business modeling, systems integration, and strategic consulting is strongly desired.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in management consulting with a management and/or technology consulting firm
Minimum 5 years’ experience in client relationship management and pre-sales support in the Technology industry in a consulting or industry practitioner role
Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences
Ability to travel up to
Minimum Bachelor’s level Degree required
Ability to develop white papers and points of view to promote eminence and client engagement
Proven ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities
Experience building deep client relationships and identifying client's priority needs for service and support
Knowledge of process flows, systems and procedures which aids analysis and recommendations for solution offerings to exploit new business opportunities
Ability to manage teams of consultants and work with cross functional and client facing teams
A positive, results oriented style, evidenced by listening, motivating, delegating, influencing, and monitoring the work being done to develop the next generations of leaders
Experience working in an on/off-shore model
An extremely high level of energy, sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness coupled with the ability/willingness to work hard and well under pressure
An engaging and open interpersonal style complemented by the analytical pragmatism necessary to quickly dissect highly complex issues
Ability to establish immediate credibility among peers; a professional who is respected for intelligence and technical expertise
Master's Degree in Business/Management or equivalent highly preferred
