Job Summary

Responsible for processing, cleaning, and analyzing large amounts of data to enable data-based decision making and enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Applies knowledge of modern analytic tools and techniques to discover hidden patterns and trends to provide novel insights to the business.

Key Activities

• Apply statistical concepts and advanced analytic techniques to complete data analysis

• Effectively communicates results of analyses and makes recommendations to improve the business

• Apply exploratory data analysis techniques to identify relationships and quality of data

• Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to address data quality issues

• Use a variety of tools to cleanse, prepare, and aggregate data from disparate systems

• Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement new business rules for data transformation and aggregation

• Reverse engineer existing ETL to validate alignment with current business practices

• Develop and maintains queries, reports, and analyses using a variety of analytic tools

• Participates in testing activities related to data quality and system changes

• Develops and maintains data dictionaries

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, computer science, or business (or applicable work experience)

• 1-3 years of professional experience generally required.

• 1-3 years of experience in analytics, information technology, and/or statistics preferred.

• Strong understanding of relational database concepts preferred.

• Moderate skill in data manipulation and analysis using SQL, Python or R preferred.

• Moderate skill in data visualization and reporting using Tableau and/or Business Objects preferred (portfolio of work preferred).

• Effective analytical and problem solving skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Strong customer service orientation preferred.

• Willingness to learn new skills preferred.

• Proficient computer skills in programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email programs.
