Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.The selected candidate will be involved in deep sub-micron IC design in Intel’s leading process technology, creating and implementing competitive solutions with Intel’s PROM circuit technology for use in mobile, IOT, client, and server segments. Job responsibilities include Hard IP definition, design, and verification, including behavioral modeling, and managing layout development; clear documentation, and communication regarding Hard IP; managing and delivering various project/product requests; Post-Si support, including test definition and proposing experiments, as well as reviewing and dispositioning results.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.Minimum Requirements: * 6+ months working with VLSI design, specifically Hard IP IC design and SoC design methodology, including but not limited to: – Feature and specification definition of potential circuit solutions, – Exploration of novel, robust and competitive circuit solutions (considering power, area and performance) through feasibility studies including transient, statistical and stability analysis, aging circuit simulation and formal characterization. – Effective schematic capture, and behavioral modeling of circuits in Verilog, as well as logical equivalence verification between schematic and Verilog models. – Physical verification of circuit through layout-extracted static timing analysis, electrical rules' check and noise analysis. – Reliability verification of layout: IR drop, electro-migration and self-heat analysis. * 6+ months working circuit design convergence using industry standard design and validation tools.
