What we’re looking for:

Someone who has the personality and the ability to figure out how to connect the dots of very large sets of data and has the solid foundation of how DNS, networks, web, internet security, web exploits, and web bots work

Provides technical direction and guidance based on data science and analysis of web traffic, browser activity and malicious web bot detections. Assist with the creation of automated detection of malicious web bots

Extract large and complex malicious web & bot datasets while thinking strategically about uses of data and how data use interacts with data design

Collaborate with Engineering, the AI/ML team, the Malicious Detection team, Product Management and Executive Leadership Team to create algorithmic and data-driven solutions, as well as establishing current and long-term business, technical and product strategy for malicious web bot detection

Develop models using statistical analysis and data mining to detect exploit, botnet, browser and other trends (including collaboration with engineers creating dashboards and heatmaps for visualization of data)

Success in creating monetization strategies and offerings based on economic analysis of data assets and data science strategies

Measuring, experimenting and tuning malicious web bot detection systems and algorithms as well as implementing adaptive malicious web bot detection techniques based on machine learning and data mining

Determination of weighted reputation and trustworthy scoring systems based on data mining and analysis

Identify relevant algorithms and processes for data-driven solutions; and provide design input to engineering to code those identified to produce actionable results

Have experience with interacting, administering, or working with : Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MapReduce, and cluster computing with Amazon Web Services, Open Source Software, and Linux.

The following would be ideal:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Malware, Computer Security, Statistics, Mathematics or related field with sufficient experience in malware detection and analysis and preferably with experience in malicious detection, ad fraud, non-human traffic detection, malware analysis, big data analytics, online advertising, artificial intelligence/machine learning, or high-volume transaction processing.

5+ years of work experience, preferably as data scientist or in highly analytical role working with data mining, data analytics, statistical analysis, and mathematical approaches to solving business problems

Loves data and finding relationships or patterns within the data.

Professional experience working with data mining, data analytics, statistical analysis, and mathematical approaches to solving business problems.

Parallel programming experience. Fluency in one or more of these high level programming languages:

Python, Scala, JavaScript, GoLang, Java

Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing Proof of Concept malicious website detection strategies, malware collection, malware analysis, threat intelligence, botnet research, sandboxing technologies

Expert level ability at producing quality papers and blogs on the data science and analysis related to malicious web bot detection

Active in Data Science, Botnet, Cybersecurity Meet Up, R User and/or similar activities

Experience working with an agile-based system and a git-based workflow.

Deep understanding of computer science: data structures, algorithms and their complexities, object oriented programming, test based design, functional programming, distributed systems.

Proficiency in training and improving machine learning algorithms
